International Office

When planning your stay in Germany, you should already contact the International Office of your chosen university - by e-mail or telephone. There you can find out about the application process and admission requirements before you start your studies. Student room

An inexpensive option is a room in a student dormitory. The rooms are arranged by the Studierendenwerk and are in great demand. Therefore, you should get your application underway as early as possible. There are approximately 6,500 places. The dormitories are mainly located near the university.

An alternative is rooms in shared apartments. You can search for available rooms in various online portals. You can find an overview of possibilities for apartment hunting here.

Welcome Club

The Welcome Club is a meeting for international and German students. The Welcome Club consists of a Quiz Night and a Language Night, which takes place in the Weltcafè, as well as a Culture Night.

Quiz Night: At the Quiz Night, teams of German and international students compete against each other in the Weltcafè to win great prizes.

Language Night: The Language Night offers all participants the opportunity to refresh their German language skills through conversations and various games.

Culture Night: During the Culture Night we will visit different places in and around Stuttgart, such as the TV Tower or the Mercedes-Benz Museum.

Your start in Stuttgart and the region

In order to make it easier for students from all over the world to arrive and start their studies, the state capital Stuttgart organizes the information event "Your Start in Stuttgart and the Region" once a year together with the Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation. "Your Start in Stuttgart and the region" is aimed at international bachelor's and master's students from the first semester and is held in English. In 2022, the event took place on 16.11.2022.

After an official welcome at Stuttgart City Hall by the Mayor for Social Affairs and Social Integration, Alexandra Sußmann, the Welcome Center Stuttgart presented its advisory and event services. There was also a thematic presentation by the Welcome Center and the Studierendenwerk, which focused on the topics of studying, working and living.

Afterwards, the participants were invited to the Welcome Center for a joint exchange of ideas. Employees of the Welcome Center, the health insurance providers, the Employment Agency and the Studierendenwerk were available for questions and exchange.
