German and integration courses

In the federal integration courses you learn German for everyday life and you learn many things about Germany, for example about the history, the culture or the political system. They are aimed at adults and young people who are no longer of school age. Foreign nationals, ethnic German repatriates, German nationals and refugees with good prospects of staying can take part in the integration courses .

Each integration course consists of a German course (basic course and advanced course) and an orientation course. The aim of the integration course is for you to successfully take the final test. It consists of a language test (level B1) and the test "Living in Germany". As a supplement to the integration courses offered by the federal government, the state capital Stuttgart supports district-oriented German courses and the "Mama lernt Deutsch" program at Stuttgart schools. If required, these courses are offered with childcare.

The municipal German courses are aimed at people who are not entitled to an integration course or who can only be reached through a district-oriented offer.

Refugees who do not have access to the federal courses can also participate in the municipal German courses. The Clearing Office for Linguistic Integration issues the certificate of entitlement to attend the course.

The German courses for refugees are funded by the state program VwV Deutsch für Flüchtlinge of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration.
