EU Blue Card
You can apply for an EU Blue Card if you have a recognised degree from a foreign university: you will receive a temporary residence permit for a maximum of four years. Degrees from foreign universities must be recognised.
- Presentation of an employment contract or a binding job offer in accordance with your qualifications.
- You receive a salary of at least two-thirds of the annual income threshold in the general pension insurance. The minimum gross salary per year for 2020 is 55,200 Euros.
- Exception: the amount of the salary is at least 52 percent of the annual income threshold of the general pension insurance. It
is taken as a basis when issuing a Blue Card to professionals, such as scientists, mathematicians and engineers as well as doctors and IT specialists.
The threshold for 2020 is 43,056 Euros.
