The Protestant Church District of Stuttgart includes 66 Protestant parishes in the state capital. In addition, there are numerous institutions and works. Around 162,000 Stuttgart residents belong to the Protestant church.

The Catholic City Deanery of Stuttgart with its 46 parishes covers the area of the state capital Stuttgart - around 150,000 people in Stuttgart belong to the Catholic Church. 18 parishes of Catholics of other mother tongues reflect the international character of Stuttgart.

About 10 percent of all Stuttgart residents are Muslims. There are over 20 Muslim  faith institutions (opens in a new tab) in Stuttgart, organized along ethnic and denominational lines. Prayer rooms and religiously oriented services are provided by the communities.

Jewish life in Stuttgart is practiced, taught and lived in the  Stuttgart synagogue (opens in a new tab). With numerous activities and offers, the Jewish Community of Württemberg provides religious instruction as well as a Jewish elementary school and daycare center.
