The Advisory Board for People with Disabilities of the City of Stuttgart supports the City Council, its committees and the city administration as an expert body. It represents the interests of people with disabilities so that they can participate in life in urban society on an equal and self-determined basis. The advisory board provides information about the special concerns of people with disabilities and formulates these concerns both for political bodies and the public. This includes creating better living conditions and a barrier-free environment. As well as creating acceptance for people with disabilities. The Advisory Board for People with Disabilities supports the implementation of the Stuttgart Focus Action Plan UN CRPD.

The advisory board is made up of members with different experiences of disability, e.g. physical disability, mobility impairment, chronic illness, blindness, visual impairment, hearing impairment, deaf-blindness. The Advisory Board for People with Disabilities also includes knowledgeable residents.
