The offices of the Office of Public Order, in particular the citizens' offices in the city center and in the city districts, the immigration office and the vehicle registration and driving license office, will not be open to the general public on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 due to a community event. The Refugee Department of the Foreigners' Registration Office has been located at Jägerstraße 14-18, 70174 Stuttgart since December 2016. Its responsibilities include issuing residence permits and tolerated stay permits. In addition, the Refugee Department is also responsible for issuing humanitarian residence permits and travel documents to persons entitled to asylum and recognized refugees. Persons who have currently been granted protection status by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees are therefore requested to contact the Refugee Department. Applications for permission to employ persons who are currently in possession of a residence permit or tolerated stay are also processed in the Refugee Department.
