The Budget Department handles all tasks related to the preparation and execution of the city budget, including medium-term financial planning, the investment program and, finally, the preparation of the annual financial statements, including the balance sheet and the statement of accounts.

The Budget Department is also responsible for the assessment of fundamental and important financial transactions and is involved by the municipal offices in the preparation of submissions to the Municipal Council. Furthermore, the budget department advises and supports all offices in matters of accrual and annual financial statements within the framework of cost and activity accounting.

It is also responsible for

• the budget consolidation,
• budgeting,
• the participatory budgeting process
• the financial reporting system,
• application support for the SAP modules in the areas of budgeting and cost accounting,
• the handling of all matters related to municipal financial equalization.
