Katharinenhospital, known in Stuttgart as KH for short, is the largest hospital in the region with its 860 beds. More than 2,000 employees care for around 30,000 patients a year in 17 clinics with 32 nursing wards and radiological and neuroradiological institutes as well as five central institutes. In addition, about 90,000 patients are treated in the 14 outpatient clinics. The hospital is a maximum care hospital and an academic teaching hospital of the University of Tübingen. It is run by the state capital Stuttgart. The building was constructed from 1955 to 68 - architect Richard Döcker.
