The Tax Management department performs the function of an internal tax consultancy for the city by advising the offices and own businesses on tax matters and supporting them in fulfilling their tax (accounting) obligations. It is responsible for preparing the financial statements of commercial enterprises and for declaring income tax and VAT. It also performs tax-related tasks in connection with the municipal foundations. Furthermore, the central Tax Compliance Management System (TCMS) coordination office is assigned to the department and is therefore responsible for the introduction and further development of the city-wide TCMS.
The department is also responsible for system support and further development of the city's asset accounting system.
