The Infection Protection Section of the Infection Protection and Environmental Hygiene Department is responsible for: Infection hygiene monitoring of facilities, consultation on issues of infection protection and hygiene, coordination of the Stuttgart Network for Combating Multi-resistant Pathogens (MRE Network Stuttgart), investigations and measures in the case of notifiable diseases, pandemic planning, educating the general public about the dangers of communicable diseases, implementation of the Measles Protection Act, review of death certificates and transmission to the State Statistical Office and the Cancer Registry.
